Being a celebrity is a gift.
Being a celebrity slash entrepreneur is spectacular.
Achieving both in a young age is being wise.
And for these young showbiz stars, being wise equates to building a business to secure their financial well-being even when their careers plunge into a downward spiral.
1. Nash Aguas
The former Goin’ Bulilit child talent enjoyed his success as a celebrity since he was a kid.
Now that he is a teen-ager, he set luxury and comfy aside and instead invested in a busines that he loves.
Together with fellow young star Carlo Barrameda, they opened a Japanese restaurant last July.
The store was thematically named Muramen and located along University Belt in Manila.
When interviewed about their business, Nash gave an insight by saying, “Kaya namin naisip na ito ‘yung i-business kasi ako since bata ramen fan talaga ako, so Japanese food fan, gyoza, beef gyudon, tonkatsu, karaage so hindi kami papayag na siyempre hindi masarap product namin kasi kaming dalawa Japanese food lovers kami.”
2. Kathryn Bernardo
In today’s world, being pampered already became necessity.
People, millenials and adults alike, love the way how they look when they are pampered into beauty.
This prompted Kathryn, who loves being pampered herself, to put up a nail salon wittingly-named KathNails.
The young star designed the salon herself and after the success of its pilot branch, she opened her second branch last November.
3. Daniel Padilla and Co.
Kathryn’s on-cam loveteam Daniel Padilla, hence the uniname KathNiel, also put up a business but he partnered with other celebrities like Vice Ganda and James Yap.
The high-end business venture was a gastro-pub located in Greenhills.
It was named District 8, and looked like a pub coming directly from a Hollywood movie.
4. Liza Soberano
The ‘Second Most Beautiful Woman in the World’ transferred her pretty persona into a wellness center.
Aiming to educate ‘all Fililino to start thinking about their wellness,’ she recently opened a wellness center named HOPE: Hand and Foot Wellness.
Not only does the center bears her name, but also serves as the springboard towards her wellness advocacy.
In a recent interview, the future Darna star said, “Where I see my wellness center going is I want it to be bigger. I want it to be a platform for most Filipinos who aren’t educated enough about wellness rituals that it’s about time they start acknowledging wellness as part of their daily routine.”
5. James Reid
The other half of famous loveteam JaDine also shared the same passion for business as he synthesized his interests and assets.
Known for being a music lover, James collaborated with Viva big boss Vic del Rosario to create the music label Careless Music Manila.
He said in a recent interview, “I don’t feel like a CEO really it’s just I now have the freedom to make whatever music I want to. And I’ve partnered with boss Vic (del Rosario) for this label but I have complete creative freedom with the music which is amazing, something I’ve always wanted.”
Indeed, these young celebrities thought ahead of their time.
They didn’t bought the idea of lifetime luxury, but instead acknowledged the fact that they will not be famous forever.
