In today’s ‘me-first’ world, millenials have the tendency to brag and show off.

When there’s a new-release and top-of-the-line model, their initial reaction is to buy it as soon as they can.

But the heart-melting story of a student, which went viral, changed that perspective for good.

Noticed by a certain Lyse Detoyato, the girl and her father apparently went to a shopping mall to buy her a phone.

If we are on the place of the girl, we will surely want the best model.

But after series of looking to the phone and back to her father, she decided to settle for the cheapest one.

Lyse’s post about the story reads, “Just wanted to share…this grade 11 student is looking for a phone ranging from 2,500 to 3,500 so I offer several units that would fit her budget…”

The netizen continued, “Maybe others would choose the 3,500 since the specs is higher and so is the camera…as she check the unit she’s always looking sideways to her father…”

On this moment, they apparently came to the decision of what model to buy.

“She made a choice she bought the least expensive one the 1,500,” the netizen said.

This unselfish act of the student touched Detoyato.

She said, “I was looking at her smiled and it melt my heart how she puts too much emphasis to her father of what they could afford other than being a brat in choosing the expensive one..this girl of this caliber would go far…”

Lyse concluded with a wish for the humble girl.

She declared, “God bless you who ever you are for having a good heart to your parents and such a great example for young generations now a days….”

As of writing, the post already garnered total of 58,000 reactions and more than eight thousand shares from the netizens.

Majority of the comments have only appreciation and praise for the student as she chose simplicity and humility rather than being showy and being a ‘social climber.”

Well, what a nice action to emulate.

  1. The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is completely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
