After a series of Twitter backlash that saw the disrespectful netizen on the shorter side of the stick, comedian and Franco Hernandez’s good friend Vice Ganda’s rage has now cooled down.
It can be remembered that the netizen, who was reportedly a college student from Bataan, tweeted the very day that Franco was announced dead with sarcastically-disrespectful stetement saying, “Bat si Franco pa yong namatay di nalang si Jon Lucas?”
This earned flak from others especially from Vice.
The comedian instantly replied a statement that seemed more of a warning than a plain message, “Sa gitna ng pagluluksa namin ngayon di ko papayagang may lumapastangan sa mga taong malapit sakin. Napakawalang hiya mong hayup ka!”
This thread quickly became viral and the student suddenly found herself in the midst of raining negative and hateful comments.
Recently, Vice already stated his side on why he chose to reply that way.
He said, “At that moment, I was just being myself.
At that morning, I was mourning, I was weeping, I was devastated because of my good friend’s death. That was the exact feeling na naramdaman ko. Feeling ko nabastos niya yung kaibigan ko, feeling ko OA, feeling ko na-violate niya yung kaibigan ko.”
He also stated the very feeling that instant when he read the mean tweet.
“Right then and there, hindi ako nag-isip, I have to be a friend to my friend. Itataas ko ‘tong kaibigan ko, kailangan kong ipagtanggol itong kaibigan ko,” the Its Showtime host said.
He also provided some insights on why he stepped up to shield the condition of Franco.
But inspite of his lashing out the netizen through words, he is quick to defend his actions.
And because of this, Vice believes that the netizen has already learned her lessons the ‘Triggered Vice Ganda” way.
He also shared some of the funny realizations because of the incident.
Vice also disclosed that he won’t be making his warning on his reply tweet anymore.
“Hindi na kita pupuntahan this month dahil busy ako. Malay mo, madaan ako ng Bataan,” Vice blurted out jokingly.
“For sure, alam na niya yung naganap.
And to conclude his statement, the comedian said, “Natuto na ‘yan.
