In the midst of an escalating Twitter war between their respective supporters, Maine Mendoza is quick to shield fellow Kapuso talent Gabbi Garcia to protect her from an alleged snubbing issue on the staging of Bench Under the Stars fashion show in Mall of Asia Arena last Saturday.
A shared private video from netizen @jenasis818 triggered the issue as it showed Garcia failing to acknowledge and react to the presence of Mendoza in the stage.
This sparked the ire of pro-Maine supporters who called Garcia as “plastik” and “inggit.”
However, on her latest tweet, Mendoza is quoted as saying, “Hi guys, please do not bash Gabbi. Clearly, hindi lang niya napansin kaya sana wag na gawan ng issue. She is actually a nice person.”
Hi guys, please do not bash Gabbi. Clearly, hindi lang niya napansin kaya sana wag na gawan ng issue. She is actually a nice person! Ang totoo niyan, siya pa nga yung palaging lumalapit at bumabati sa akin. 😊

Maine also added that in reality, Gabbi is one of the persons who constantly approach her.
“Ang totoo niyan, siya pa nga yung palaging lumalapit at bumabati sa akin,” said the 22-year old phenomenal actress.
Gabbi immediately appreciated Maine’s effort to shield her form bashers as she tweeted, “Thank you, Maine. I appreciate this so much.”
thank you, Maine ☺️ i appreciate this so much 💖

The actress under fire definitely needs this sort of support from her co-artist as she received numerous harsh comments and tweets.
One netizen tweeted, “Parang gusto batiin ni Meng [Maine] si Gabbi tingnan niyo yong kamay ni Meng…pero tong si Gabbi feelingera deadma niya si Meng…” followed by a reconstructed Filipino curse.
Another commented, “And daming plastic …hindi lang si Gabbi.”
Nevertheless, the Bench’s 30th anniversary fashion show special is widely tagged as a success in its promise to be bigger and better this year.
