As trends and shows came and go, the celebrity gag show Bubble Gang of GMA-7 managed to stay on track and never be left out with its competitors on its way to claiming the title as the longest-running gag show in the Philippines.

Michael V., the show’s original member and creative director, disclosed that its the harmony between the show and the fans that really kept them going.”Maganda yung relationship ng audience sa show. Yung show tinutulungan yung audience and at the same time, yung audience tumulong din sa show.”

He also noted that despite the changes commonly encountered by the society, it only inspired them to revise and rewrite social standards into funny skits that can also be imitated by their viewers. “Habang nagbabago kasi ang society, parang meron kaming puwedeng gayahin and at the same time, kami, puwede kaming gayahin ng society.

On their upcoming 22nd anniversary, they chose to collaborate with hit songs from Parokya ni Edgar for a musical comedy show skillfully titled “Parokya Bente Dos: A Laugh Story” that will be aired November 17 and 24.

Despite hardships and trials facing other shows and networks, Michael V. cannot remember any drawback they encountered as a show. He emphasized that their main purpose is to enjoy the show so their audience can enjoy it, too.

Together with Ogie Alcasid, Michael V. formed a formidable cast of comedy stars and other important celebrity figures to attract a large throng of followers. However, they parted ways when Alcasid transferred to TV5 and now to ABS-CBN.

Today, Bubble Gang boasts of 23 members to bring fun and happiness to the Filipino people.

Among them were Kim Domingo, Chariz Solomon, Valeen Montenegro, Antonio Aquitania, Boy 2 Quizon, Paolo Contis, Denise Barbacena, Lovely Abella, Sef Cadayona, Betong Sumaya, Mikael Daez, Arra San Agustin, Jak Roberto, Archie Alemania, Arny Ross, Mikoy Morales, Ashley Rivera, Analyn Barro, Juancho Trivino, Jan Manual, James Macasero, Rodfil Obesa, Myka Flores, Jackie Rice and Diego Llorico.

He hopes that the musical-themed anniversary special edition of the Bubble Gang will find its way to the Filipino family television set during its airing times and be a success.

“Yung naging success ng [musical na] ‘Rak of Aegis,’ nag-inspire sa akin to come up something like this. Baka puwede naman nating gawin for Bubble Gang…sana mag-work . Sana, I hope na mag-work.”
